Contractor Network Terms
These terms explain exactly how ADU Advise contractor matching, lead acceptance, and the $300 refund promise work during the pilot.
1. Joining the network
There is no fee to apply, be reviewed, create a contractor profile, or remain listed in the ADU Advise contractor network. ADU Advise reviews a contractor's licensing, insurance, service area, ADU or residential-addition experience, and capacity before activation. Approval is not a promise of lead volume.
2. How homeowner matching works
ADU Advise uses the homeowner's stated service area, project type, budget, timing, and the contractor's service area and stated capacity to identify potential matches. A homeowner may choose to send a completed project brief to up to three contractors. A contractor will be told when an opportunity is shared with other contractors. ADU Advise does not promise blanket or geographic exclusivity.
3. What a contractor reviews before accepting
Before accepting a paid lead, a contractor receives a project preview that may include the homeowner's general location, ADU type, approximate size, stated budget range, timeline, plan status, intended use, finish level, and any homeowner-provided utility or site notes. Homeowner contact information is released after acceptance. Information supplied by a homeowner is not a site inspection, zoning determination, financing approval, or feasibility guarantee unless ADU Advise expressly says it was independently verified.
4. Acceptance and the $300 fee
A contractor may decline any opportunity that is not a fit. There is no charge for reviewing a project preview. If a contractor chooses to accept an available qualified homeowner lead, the contractor pays a flat $300 fee through the provided secure checkout. The fee is charged only after that choice to accept. A lead is accepted when the contractor completes checkout and receives the homeowner's contact information.
5. Refund promise
If the homeowner does not sign a construction contract with the contractor that accepted the lead, the $300 lead fee is fully refundable. The contractor may request a refund after the homeowner has declined, selected another provider, cancelled the project, or otherwise confirmed that no construction contract will be signed with that contractor. Refund requests must be submitted within six months of lead acceptance. ADU Advise may confirm the outcome with the homeowner before issuing the refund. Once confirmed, ADU Advise submits the refund to the original payment method within 10 business days. Financial institutions may take additional time to post the credit.
6. Contractor and homeowner relationship
After an accepted introduction, the contractor and homeowner communicate directly and the contractor owns its customer relationship. ADU Advise is a planning and matching platform, not the builder, architect, engineer, lender, or permitting authority for the project. ADU Advise does not guarantee a signed construction contract, project outcome, or return on investment.
7. Responsible use of project information
Contractors may use homeowner information only to evaluate and respond to the homeowner's specific project request. Contractors must protect that information, must not sell or share it, and must follow applicable licensing, privacy, consumer-protection, and marketing laws. Contractors must keep active licensing and insurance in the places where they provide services and promptly notify ADU Advise of a suspension, lapse, or material change. See the ADU Advise Privacy Notice for platform data practices.
8. Changes, questions, and termination
A contractor can turn off lead availability or request removal from the network at any time. ADU Advise may update these terms for future opportunities and will post the revised date here. Questions about a particular offer, refund, or these terms can be sent to grant@aduadvise.com.
